Steps to Success is part of a unique public-private partnership between the Brookline Housing Authority, Public Schools of Brookline, and STS, Inc. The Partners worked together to determine that in order to best serve the needs of our students and families, we need to provide programs that are holistic, coordinated, and comprehensive. This ensures our students are receiving the supports they need during school, after school, and at home. Thus, the focus of each Partner has been clarified to provide programs from sun-up until sun-down.

From the initial research that we have conducted, this Partnership is unique and is potentially a national model. A partnership between entities such as a housing authority, school district, and non-profit, that do not often communicate, let alone closely collaborate, is note-worthy. In addition, programs often do not provide the wrap-around support as well as the long-term investment in low-income students (from 4th grade through college graduation) that lead to strong outcomes. Ultimately, an investment in the Partnership is an investment in a better and stronger Brookline.
