Steps to Success programming begins with our students in the 4th grade, before they reach the critical middle-school years. Guided by their Advisor, STS students participate in grade-level programs intended to build successful habits and competencies, while also exposing them to new experiences.

Academic Enrichment

Within Elementary and Middle School Programming, we offer various programs for 4th through 8th graders to participate in. These programs are:

  • STS Extended Learning Programs (Please visit our Extended Learning Page)
  • Mentoring for girls through our partnership with Simmons College
  • Invest in Kids (INK) for 7th and 8th grader through our partnership with Carrol School of Management at Boston College

Community Building

Advisors help coordinate STS programs, educational excursions, community service opportunities and other activities year round to foster a keen understanding of community involvement and leadership growth.

Transitions Programming

Transitions Programming was created with the intention of preparing our 4th Graders for the start of their journey through Steps to Success through a program call Step Up 4th Graders. Middle School programming concludes with our annual Rise Up 8th Graders workshops, which occur in May and during the month of July. All programs aim to promote a smooth transition for students as they transition into Steps and into Brookline High School.
